Doncaster tenants' champion dies aged 65
Lyn Ralph, the chair of the Doncaster Federation of Tenants’ and Residents’ Associations, has died aged 65.
Ms Ralph, who spent much of her life championing the causes of council tenants, passed away on Sunday morning in Doncaster Royal Infirmary following a short illness.
As well as chairing the umbrella body, she was also vice chair of the board of the arm’s-length management organisation where she was a tenant – St Leger Homes of Doncaster – and chair of its customer service committee.
Susan Jordan, chief executive of St Leger Homes, said: ‘I know what a special person Lyn was. She was not only the tenants’ champion but was a driver for excellence and doing the right thing for the right reason.’
Brian Naughton, vice chair of the Doncaster Federation of Tenants’ and Residents’ Associations, said: ‘Lyn was a great lady. We are all deeply saddened. She led this organisation with Doncaster tenants in mind and was a powerful voice in the support of local people. She will be greatly missed not only in Doncaster but much further afield.’
