Leicester pushes stock sales

Leicester Housing Association attempted to sell more of its social housing stock than any other social landlord last month, according to the latest monthly figures from Essential Information Group.

EIG, which collates data from all auctions across the country, revealed that the association made 12 properties available for auction in November, and sold seven homes for £358,000.

Wandsworth Council raised more than any other social landlord, selling the seven properties it made available at auction for £2.18 million. This is a large increase from the two homes sold for a combined £685,000 last month.

Peabody Trust raised more than any other housing association, offloading all six properties it made available for £1.48 million. This compares with the £1.3 million it raised last month after selling five homes.
