United strikes £18m of deals
Specialist housing contractor United House has won three new contracts worth more than £18 million for decent homes refurbishment work.
Places for People selected the firm to carry out a major works programme to its properties, from the south coast up to the midlands, in a contract worth £16 million. Work is to start early this year.
Medway Council has also appointed United House to carry out similar refurbishments to properties in Rochester, Gillingham and Rainham, in Kent, later this month.
In north London, Enfield Homes has chosen United House to carry out a £2.5 million decent homes refurbishment of 350 flats on the Turkey Street estate in Enfield.
Jeffrey Adams, chief executive of United House Group, said: ‘We have created a highly effective resident liaison service to ensure that we look after the people whose homes are being refurbished. We are delighted to be working on these new contracts.’
