TVH has lurched from one crisis to the next since it was created by the transfer of 5,800 homes from Erewash Council in March 2002. So what now? Parallels can be drawn with nearby Trent and Dove Housing Association. It received a similar number of homes from East Staffordshire Council just months before TVH was created, going on to receive a ‘green light’ for viability from former regulator the Housing Corporation.
TVH’s future may well not be independent, but staff and tenants should take heart that as recently as 2008 it was awarded a one-star rating with excellent prospects for improvement by the Audit Commission. Things may not quite have gone to plan since, but TVH can quickly get back on track.

Ironic in light of todays news that bullying happens at No 10. Unfortunately I am not surprised. Since the outset of the " business" mentality in public services, the aim has been to do the job faster and at less cost (fewer staff) and the pressures have fallen on front line staff to achieve targets. These management heroes who achieve, bear a remarkable resemblance to those hedgefund managers who everyone tolerated or ignored until their real motives of greed and self advancement nearly destroyed our economy.
Shame too that in public service the real costs are to some of the most vulnerable service users.
Deeply worrying that none of the political parties came out to say the bullying culture is unacceptable so we can expect more of the same whoever wins the election

I find it interesting that Stuart MacDonald should use the comparison of Trent & Dove's superior performance alongside that of Three Valley's dismal failure. The succes of T&D came about under the Chairmanship of Ian North, who was subsequently 'head hunted' by the CEO of Three Valley's (Kevin Lowry) to assist in getting TVH out of the tangled mess that had developed since their inception in 2002. Under his (North's) Chairmanship, TVH was taken out of 'Supervision' and achieved a commendation with 'good prospects', in less than 2yrs. Eventually Ian, who was presented with the national award by the CIH of 'Inspirational Board Member-2009', resigned.
The present Chair (Bob Hingston) may still be of the point of view that Eastwoods exit does not neccessarily point to guilt, but more observant people close to the action know otherwise.
Tenants are now looking forward to the merger situation being resolved quickly, but know that Chairmen of Ian North's calibre do not grow on trees, so we are possibly in the horns of a dilemma.

If only stuarts comments were true 'a cloud is lifted'. under the current regime of mr hingson and mr lomax and cronies - the situation is potentially worse. Do the right thing and resign, letting the true passionate staff GET ON WITH IT.

I notice in this thread a number of people are only prepared to make comments under pseudonyms is this because they don't even believe their own comments, or they worry that people who know them will challenge their version of the truth, or are they the people that have been affected or directly involved in the problems and therefore suffered as a result of the action taken to improve the situation. Lets all hope that Mr Hingston doesn't do what lots of other people have done at TVH and bail out on the organization from what I have heard and read the organization needs someone with a steady hand and 30 plus years of experience GETTING ON WITH IT and not gutter snipes declaiming everyone and everything under psuedonyms in a vain hope of bringing everyone down as they have been. It seems like a case of if I cant have it no-one can have it!!! Maybe the Housing Corporation did take to long to act but I have to ask did the TSA act too quick. It seems to me that on the same day as the board was strengthened with 4 new members (newblood) and you have to suspend your CEO and FD it is clear that action was being undertaken, did the TSA give the action time to work or did it just swoop in as someone wrote earlier? I say good luck to the Volunteer Board keep your nerve and ignore the gutter snipes the situation can only improve now.

Michael Farmer, afraid you need to get facts correct. It was only on the 22nd Janaury mr hingston reveals via Inside Housing "all is content"; yet a week later suspends the CEO and FD. Who wrote all is content? mr hingston, mr eastwood or mr lomax - because all is NOT. things are now at an all time low.
Also, who has bailed out, Paul, Nasreen? From what I am told staff and board are forced out and continue to be so.

No Stanley!! it was in fact the VERY NEXT DAY. On Saturday 23rd January, at the Boards Away Day meeting, the Board were presented with the facts and the decision was taken to suspend the CEO & FD. Yes that is correct - HOURS after Mr Hingston's article on 'TVH Staff are Content' hit the Inside Housing press. Is this a display of wisdom and integrity - or that of the poor judgment of a true turncoat? fall on your sword Hingston.

I have to say that it was so refreshing to read Michael Farmer's comment - comprehensive and error free - thank you Michael. Such a pity though that it was let down by it's lack of accuracy!
Had you been close to the action (and I know that you weren't as your name is not familiar to me, or my colleagues) or even if you had read more carefully ALL the comments that have featured herein since Sept'09, you would know today who the true TVH supporters are. You would be able to differentiate between those who have the TVH tenants wants and needs at heart, and those who are merely hanging around for the the kudos. The tenants reps who fought for 'change' are only there for the 'long haul'. They have to be, as this is where they live. Things have been going wrong for too long, which is precisely why they mounted the 'challenge for change'.
For your own sake Michael go over the events again, and try to see the bigger picture - that which TVH tenants see.

Byronboy (still hiding then), I've read more than you think and am closer than you think. The only people you are talking for is that group of two Stanley and Byronboy. What a pity we all don't know who you really are and then we could judge for ourselves if you are talking for anyone other then a vested interest which has nothing to do with TVH tennants. I wonder if you two would be prepared to discuss serious action to be taken by you in a public forum prior to it that action been taken. If you did you and your organizations (if you have any) would soon be bankrupt. Also, and I am assuming here, that to suspend such senior staff would need to be pretty serious and therefore would have happened quite quickly, maybe as a result of one problem being removed (I understand the previous Chairman stepped down shortly before this all blew up) this allowed other problems to rise to the surface which had been subjugated by poor communication and personal battles. But perhaps this doesn't fit in the fantasy world of TVH. Unless of course you two were much closer to the action but you haven't dared to tell us that by hiding your identities in case you are judged too harshly by your "colleagues". Come out of the closet gentlemen and into the light let us see the whites of your eyes. Like that's going to happen.

I have already indicated that I am a TVH tenant Michael, and I really need say no more.
You use the words 'assuming' and 'I understand', which indicates that you don't really know what happened, and you are just guessing. The only way you could possibly know what you claim is if you were actually on the TVH Board - and we both know you weren't - don't we?
So, Michael, stop trying to cause trouble and leave the job of sorting out the TVH tenants needs to people who really do have a vested interest.
Inside Housing itself advocates 'Anonimity' as a way of getting to the truth without recriminations.

The cloud is still overhanging all concerned, another senior manager bit the dust on friday, thats 2 in as many months under the current leadership and now 8 in 12 months not including eastwood or hussain. hopefully that is it, but i suspect not!!!!
Mr farmer i agree with byronoy you need to stop causing trouble becasue you know very little about what is happening at tvh, that is of course you are who you say you are, suspect not also.
