Charity mourns TV presenter patron

A youth homelessness charity has said it is saddened by the death of its patron, TV presenter Kristian Digby.

Mr Digby, 32, was patron of the Albert Kennedy Trust, which works with lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender homeless young people.

An ambulance was called to his east London flat on Monday morning, but he was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said his death was unexplained.

He presented daytime BBC TV shows, including To Buy or Not to Buy, and had also worked as a director.

In a statement Tim Sigsworth, chief executive of the Albert Kennedy Trust, said: ‘Kristian was an incredible supporter of our cause and had genuine empathy for our young people and the work we do.

‘It is thanks to Kristian’s talent as a performer that we were able to raise much needed funds at our events where he played the role of both ambassador and auctioneer.

‘He will be missed by all at AKT and our thoughts and sympathy goes out to his friends and family.’

Mr Digby became a patron of the Albert Kennedy Trust in 2006.
