Housing Heroes named at awards

The winners of awards set up to recognise the contribution of the unsung ‘heroes’ of the housing sector have been announced.

The fifteen winning teams and individuals were unveiled by TV presenter Ben Fogle at a lunchtime ceremony today, held at London’s Hilton Hotel.

The winners of the awards, which are organised by Inside Housing and the Chartered Institute of Housing, are:

  • Inspirational Tenant of the Year: Cherie Tinenti - Charnwood Neighbourhood Housing
  • Inspirational Mentor of the Year: Richard Husband - Worcester Community Housing
  • Inspirational Colleague of the Year: Francis Kabia - Brent Housing Partnership
  • Inspirational Leader of the Year: Neil Biddiscombe - Advantage SW
  • Inspirational Board Member of the Year: Kate Willis - Glasgow Housing Association
  • Career Development Star of the Year: Dawn Aston Adam - Wolverhampton Homes
  • Information Technology Team of the Year: Cadarn Housing Group
  • Development Team of the Year: Derbyshire Dales Development Team
  • Ground Breaking Service Team of the Year Award: Moneyline Cymru
  • Frontline Housing Team of the Year: Liverpool Mutual Housing
  • Tenant Empowerment Team of the Year: Poplar HARCA
  • Human Resources Team of the Year: Shepherds Bush Housing Group
  • Support/Care Team of the Year: The Cyrenians
  • Procurement Team of the Year: Wolverhampton Homes
  • Maintenance Team of the Year: Wrekin Housing Trust
