Planners approve green belt development
Planning permission has been granted for a 369-home development in Epsom, Surrey.
The scheme, on the site of the former West Park Hospital, will consist of 40 per cent affordable housing.
The site is being developed by house builder Crest Nicholson with Linden Homes, a subsidiary of Galliford Try.
Under the proposals much of the hospital’s original layout and existing buildings will be retained, with its grade II listed water tower converted to apartments.
The approval follows months of discussions with consultants and architects to ensure the development of the green belt site would be acceptable to Epsom and Ewell council.
Property consultants King Sturge, PPS Group, Capita Symonds and PRP Architects all advised on the project.
