UK Housing Award finalists unveiled
More than 70 housing organisations have reached the final stages of the prestigious UK Housing Awards.
The awards, now in their fourteenth year, attracted more than 250 entries. They recognise excellence across 10 categories and present prizes for outstanding achievement in housing in Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales and for the UK as a whole.
The final winners will be announced by the Chartered Institute of Housing and Inside Housing at a ceremony in London on 10 November.
CIH chief executive Sarah Webb said: ‘It is fantastic that we have had so many excellent entries this year, and this is evident from the high standard of the shortlisted finalists.
‘I want to congratulate all the organisations who have reached the finals, their work is a true inspiration to all of us.’

Kass, I'm sure you'll join me in congratulating L&Q for being nominated in 2 categories, most notably "maintenance service driven by residents" did you nominate them by any chance?

Well it's maintainance srvice driven by residents, for a start. So credit to the L&Q residents here, otherwise god know what mess the directors would have made.
It looks like maintainance service driven by directors and managers is still rubbish.
I did not nominate any, unfortunately. Simply because I just do not know how the nomination system work.
Probably you do an you nominate L&Q simply thinking, this will upset Kass. You missed a trick there, I would have been very upset I guess for a few of us if a L&Q director had been nominated here.

I'm with you Kass, you do far more for your fellow man than the directors of a not for profit organisation which provides you and thousands of others with a home you can afford.

To be honest, Mr P, our Prime Minister does much more stuff for the whole country and get paid much less.

Other than smile, reproduce, watch his inheritance grow, and roll out damnation for anyone less fortunate, what exactly does the PM do?

Well, following Mr P logic the PM, like a director of a non profit organisation provides you and thousands of others with a home you can afford (out of his own pocket of course) - a PM provides you and other millions of other citizens with a country you can live in. Because, still following Mr P's logic, it's only thanks to the PM that you have a country to live in.

Kass, If you follow my logic then RSL directors do a lot more to actually resolve the issues discussed on this website than you.
Remember, there are plenty of satisfied residents, not all of them are as negative as you about everything.

Your logic is utter nonsense. You cannot compare a customer with a director. You got to compare a director with a director.
What is your function exactly in social housing so I can check how much positive you do?
So far I noticed your role is calling negative posters you do not like, which is far from doing anything positive.

I know I shouldn't get distracted and this has nothing to do with the article, but this comparison based on the PM wages is nonsense. PMs earn a good wage while in office, but many (most?) of their living expenses are also covered. They then make their real money once they leave office - memoirs, speaking engagements, directorships, consultancy, etc. etc. and not many other jobs can even start to compare with that earning potential.

yes, better not to pursue this here, because there are several other articles with lots comments about this issue in this website, all very interesting. Some of them about capping public sector Ceos salaries, etc.
