Housing Heroes shortlist announced

The shortlist has been announced for the Housing Heroes awards, which recognise the unsung heroes of the social housing sector.

Nearly ninety individuals and organisations will vie for the awards across 15 categories, with the winners named at a ceremony in London on 20 May.

The awards are organised by Inside Housing and the Chartered Institute of Housing.

This year they will be presented by the BBC news presenter George Alagiah. Last year the awards attracted more than 800 people, and the organisers expect the 2011 awards to be just as well attended.

See here for a full list of categories and finalists, and more information about the awards

No award for Inside Housing 'comment poster' of the year?

I nominate PSR for his peerless commitment to the Bolshevik cause.

    How sweet of you Melvin

If there were a category for capering crusader I would happily reciprocate.

    Careful now.

What categories could other posters be up for?

Do you know what I hate most? People who answer their own questions...

I think I know what you mean, I really do.

I can offer a category of most missed poster for awarding to Junior - sometimes challenging, other times challenged, but always their own view and not a recycled Murdochism.

However - IH really should have a special award on the night for their web-version Agony Aunt (who still hasn't bought a round of drinks!)
