Builder completes sale of North American arm
Taylor Wimpey has completed the sale of its North American business, leaving it clear to focus on the UK.
The house builder made $1.2 billion from the sale, which was first announced in March. Full details of the transaction will be released in August.
Pete Redfern, group chief executive, said: ‘The sale of our North American business represents a very significant step towards our goal of becoming a UK focused home builder.
‘We now have a strengthened balance sheet and increased financial capacity to invest in the UK and we are well positioned to deliver further margin improvement.’
