Landlord awards £40 million home improvement contract
Lewisham Homes has appointed maintenance contractor Mitie to carry out a £40 million home improvement programme over the next five years.
The Major Works Programme, to include kitchen and bathroom improvements, boiler and system replacements and upgrades for disabled access.
The company has also agreed to take on five apprentices from Lewisham and invest in targeted back-to-work programmes in the area as part of its commitment to invest in the communities in which it operates.
Julia Cotton, board chair of Lewisham Homes, said: ‘We are pleased to be working with MITIE to upgrade the homes in which our residents live. They will soon see the benefits of working in partnership with Lewisham Homes and MITIE through improvements to their homes and the community.’
The Homes and Communities Agency has provisionally allocated £96 million to Lewisham Homes as part of the Major Works programme, with £25.5 million confirmed for the first two years.
