Brian Johnson appointed Metropolitan boss
Metropolitan has appointed Brian Johnson as its new chief executive.
Mr Johnson, currently chief executive of Moat, will take on the role at the 36,000-home organisation from 15 October.
Mr Johnson said: ‘Metropolitan is at an exciting time in its development.
‘I am very excited about having a new set of challenges and to be taking on the leadership of another organisation that is doing great things on the ground.’
Barbara Roche, chair of Metropolitan, says:’ Brian is a successful chief executive and an inspirational leader, and he brings to Metropolitan a wealth of experience from the housing, social care and commercial sectors.”
Peter Cleland, interim chief executive of Metropolitan, will continue in his role until Mr Johnson takes over.
Metropolitan began the process of appointing a CEO following the departure of Bill Payne, which he said was for ‘personal reasons’, in December.
