Comment on: Pensions Trust keeps doorstep lender shares
The high handed Tony Stacey should be careful what he wishes for. The Trusts funds have been under pressure for some time and in pure financial terms anything that affects the fund performance is bad for its members. Hands off my retirement fund.
A reputable publication should refer to the correct term ie. Spare Room Subsidy. There is no such thing as "bedroom tax"
Tax is a deduction made to earned income. This is a reduction in housing benefit so as such could be construed as a tax saving to the general tax payer i.e. the opposite of Tax.
Comment on: Regulator concerned by ‘handful’ of associations
Exasperated, that sweeping statement needs some substantiation. (unless of course you are one of the LA Trotsky trolls on this board in which case you wont have considered any facts before writing)
Comment on: Concern at restrictive new rules
RPs struggling with ever decreasing grant have to be inventive in generating funds through asset backed loans and market sale and rent. Not because they are swashbuckling speculators but because its the only way to build a proportion of real affordable rented homes.
Existing affordable homes must be protected. but restrictions need to be carefully thought through and not strangle off the already pitiful supply of affordable social rent homes.
Comment on: Government underestimates welfare reform impact
I fear for all of us. If we don't kerb the rise in national debt, printing paper money etc, the bond markets will implode and we will get 30% + inflation. Half of everyone with a mortgage will be homeless then.
You are all living in the past.
We have entered a new age. Prepare for it. it will get much worse than it is now.
