Well now lets see, I wonder how many votes Maragaret Thatcher was able to buy when she introduced this scheme, its a pity that they didn't think further down the line, because all she did was distort the housing market, a lot of people whom took advantage of the scheme could have purchased in the private market, they now have block paved driveways, conservatories, extensions, and a Sauna would you believe !
All this scheme does is create a shortage of SOCIAL housing, which of course we now have !!
But Cameroon is obviously getting desparate for votes......so anything goes.......................! -

Well, this is really 'Great Britain' making progress !, years ago people took to bricking up their windows because of the 'Window Tax', perhaps some of these poor unfortunate tenants whom happen to have an extra bedroom will be allowed to 'brick up' the doorway ??

This whole policy reeks of Toryism !, the reason there is a shortage of social housing at all, is because Thatcher used the 'I'll let you buy your council house', if you vote for me !, in other words she bribed the electors to buy herself another 4 years in Government !
A lot of those people whom took advantage of the scheme, could probably have bought they own 'private' property if they had wanted too !
All she did was distort the market and create the social housing shortage we have now ! -

Now far be it from me to say any help for these people is most welcome, however once again it is just papering over the cracks in our society !
The Tory Government are cutting back on benefits, including of course Housing Benefit which in effect will probably add to the number of people who become homeless !
It is no good just treating the symptoms, you need to treat the Cause's !!
