Hyde announces Barratt joint venture

A major London housing association has announced a joint venture with a house builder to build 318 new homes.

Hyde Group announced the deal with Barratt London today, which will see the pair take on the regeneration of Harrow town centre.

The development will provide 267 homes for private sale, 30 homes for affordable rent and 21 homes for shared ownership.

Housing associations are widely expected to agree more joint venture deals with private builders as they diversify into sales following the Budget.

Mike Johnson, Hyde Group’s development director, said: “By working together through a joint venture partnership, we can share risk and reward to deliver much needed new homes and exceptional educational and leisure opportunities for Harrow.”
