New Build

Social housing is at the heart of our business and our new build programme includes the delivery of more than 500 mixed-tenure homes in the past year. This includes homes for social rent and shared ownership, keyworker and student accommodation, and extra care homes for older and disabled people.

We recognise that successful new build needs innovation in design, build and process, and also has to address the demands of fuel poverty and carbon reduction with sustainable construction solutions.

Refurbishment

We are industry leaders in social housing refurbishment, having improved over 250,000 homes with residents in occupation. Much of our recent focus has been on Decent Homes, through which we will have upgraded more than 80,000 properties by the end of 2010.

We are committed to the highest levels of customer satisfaction, and this is achieved by our resident liaison and construction teams, dedicated to supporting residents throughout the process.

We are leading the industry in low cost, eco-refurbishment of older properties and have created eco-home exemplar projects in Islington and Hammersmith. We are now working with a London borough to deliver the first mass eco-refurbishment project in the country.

Regeneration

Successful regeneration involves distinct skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a number of partners, including other developers, local authorities, RSLs and other bodies. United House is currently delivering a number of regeneration programmes, including Hale Village in Tottenham and the recently announced Clapham One project, where we are also an investor.

Public Private Partnerships

United House is the UK’s leading housing PFI contractor with a 25% share of the national market and managing over 7,000 homes with a combined contract value of £975 million. This includes delivery of the Islington Phase I and II Housing PFI’s and the Camden Housing PFI, involving the refurbishment of five tower blocks in the borough.

Development

Operating predominantly in central London, we have established a reputation as one of the leading niche private residential developers in the capital. With a bespoke approach to design and interior specification, our award-winning developments rank among the most innovative in London. Recent developments include the iconic, Grade II Listed Frobisher Crescent in London’s Barbican and the world renown Renzo Piano design of Central St Giles in Covent Garden.
