Many of us know the benefit of a good education and many have been able to undertake Chartered Institute of Housing qualifications.

The issue at the core of the story relates to cuts in Learning and Skills Council funding for adult learners and the impact this will inevitably have on professionals keen to gain knowledge of the housing sector.

Unfortunately, the story began like an advert for CIH qualifications and then appeared to bemoan the relative inaccessibility of courses.

The cuts are an important issue for all working in the social housing sector and it is a shame that Inside Housing did not approach this in a more neutral manner, reporting both sides of the story in a balanced way.

Inside Housing readers are an intelligent bunch, and can be trusted to read between the lines and draw their own conclusions.
