Affordable schemes triumph at design awards
A number of affordable housing schemes have picked up prizes at the Housing Design Awards.
The awards, organised by a partnership of government bodies and professional bodies, including the Homes and Communities Agency, took place last week.
A 58-home scheme in Weymouth, called Officer’s Field, won the top prize (above), as well as awards for best family homes and best social housing scheme.
The scheme, by developer ZeroC, includes 25 per cent affordable housing and will provide accommodation for Olympic sailing athletes in the short term.
Hackney Council’s Bridport House scheme (right) and Urban Splash’s Saxton development in Leeds (top right), also won awards.
