Council seeking developer for £950m regen scheme
An Essex council is looking for a developer for a £950 million regeneration scheme.
Thurrock Council has issued a notice in the Official Journal of European Union, calling for a partner for the Purfleet regeneration plan.
The 71-acre scheme will feature 3,000 new homes, shops and restaurants.
The council is looking to shortlist up to six firms and firms have until 24 July to express an interest.
The OJEU notice said: ‘The successful partner will also need to demonstrate that they have the experience, skills and resources to deliver a project of this scale and complexity.
‘They will be expected to take a lead role in the shaping and refinement of the emerging vision for the project, be responsible for leading the development and taking full management responsibility for the scheme.’
