GLA seeks developers for £5bn procurement panel
Developers are being sought for a £5 billion procurement panel which aims to provide a boost to house building in London.
The London Development Panel, set up by the Greater London Authority, will use land and property assets handed over to it from the Homes and Communities Agency to accelerate development in the capital.
Transport for London will act as the GLA’s procurement agent and help recruit developers to the panel, which is expected to help procure up to £5 billion of housing-led mixed use development for four years from 2013.
The panel will be open to the GLA, London boroughs, government departments and other public land owners to use and between 20 and 28 firms are expected to be appointed.
Interested developers need to complete and return a pre-qualification questionnaire by 11 May 2012 and invitations to tender will be issued in the autumn with contracts awarded to successful bidders by 1 April 2013.
