Social landlord nets football development
A leading housing association has bought a landmark private development in north London from Arsenal Football Club.
London & Quadrant has teamed up with house builder Barratt on the £26 million purchase of the Queensland Road development site, close to Arsenal FC’s Emirate Stadium home.
The £128 million project will feature 375 private homes across three residential towers, including 1,000 square foot penthouse units. Homes are expected to come to market in September.
L&Q and Barratt agreed a deal to develop the scheme last summer.
Alastair Baird, regional managing director at Barratt London, said: ‘We are delighted to be building this landmark development in conjunction with our partner L&Q. It will bring desperately needed high quality homes to the area and will form part of our expanding presence across London.’
Ivan Gazidis, chief executive at Arsenal FC, said: ‘This is another important milestone for our property business which has provided a consistent flow of income over recent years.’
