What does the green deal mean for social housing?
Sustainable Housing and Willmott Dixon are offering the chance to win £500 of Marks & Spencer vouchers in return for filling in our green deal survey.
We’re keen to know how the government’s flagship energy efficiency scheme, which is due to be launched in October, is being received by the social housing sector.
Under the green deal energy efficiency work will be provided at no upfront cost, with the expense repaid through fuel bill savings. A new charge on energy firms, the energy company obligation, will be used to subsidise work where the cost would exceed the fuel bill savings over 25 years.
We are trying to find out what role the green deal and energy company obligation will have in social housing. The results will be published in Sustainable Housing later in the year.
Everyone who completes the survey will be entered into a prize draw to win £500 of M&S vouchers or a £500 donation to a charity of the winner’s choice.
