Comment on: Gangs target rough sleepers for slaves - charity
I worked in a number of direct access hostels between 2000-2008 and 'recruiters' for these gangs would regulary try and get in to 'recruit' people. Obviously we never allowed them access but they always got to people on the streets. I never heard of anyone being imprisoned, but many many cases where people did a days work [usually tarmacing] and were then dumped on the roadside in the middle of nowhere with no pay, any protests being met with a beating. I suspect it's very difficult to get evidence, statements etc to prosecute these cases. The Thames Reach approach of warning people of the dangers may be the only way to stop it.

Today the entire £30 million SP admin grant has been cut. What does this mean for SP teams and providers?

Posted in: Advice about change of use
Thanks for your response.
We have now sort advice and it appears that due to the nature of the project we will not be a HMO and can use Licence agreements.
Thanks
