Comment on: Housing co-op planning to tackle empty homes
Of course Grant baby wont like it, there’s no profit in it for all his mates in the City. Eric “the piemonster” Pickles wont want it either, he thinks that empty properties are a good thing which is why he wants to extend the time a property can be empty for before it goes on the Register from one to two years. If you squat in one of these empty homes you become a criminal but if you leave them empty you become a property speculator exercising your democratic right as a landlord. Is it me or is there something wrong with that picture?

Comment on: Mother of rioter told to plead for her home
Really? Blimey who’d have thought that the mighty Wandsworth might have to back down on this? Perhaps rather than make the tenant “beg” to be allowed to stay in their own home having done nothing wrong themselves an apology might be in order, a really grovelling one for letting the ego of the Housing managers get out of hand and allowing themselves to think that they are Robo Cop.

Comment on: Eviction threat as rioter sentenced to 11 months
Er, not quite so simple really. Wandsworth will be required to prove their case and a judge will decide upon its merits. Can they show that the tenant suggested to her child that they go out and participate in a riot? Is there a condition in the tenancy that says that the landlord will seek possession if any member of the household does participate in civil disturbance? No I don’t suppose they do. Perhaps the tenant should make a complaint to the Ombudsman service that the landlord has acted in a way that is Ultra Vires thereby causing alarm and distress.
