This is hadly a new apporach. Some northern local authorities were trying to fill their empty properties sone years ago. Some people stayed after moving but the majority returned. What ever happened to Localism and the support of the family................ this does not appear if your scum ( social housing tenents ) obviously. Peoples lives and politics don't you just love it............................

Interesting, so the public land gets released and sold at a knocked down price to help the government and local authorities capital assets whilst the developer sits on the landbank and allows the cpaital value to grow and use as collaterol. And guess what, the landbank is a range of valuable strategic sites........................

The whole issue is that housing assoiations will struggle to continue borrowing even in the bond market so the appetite is the ecnomic situation continues will preclude further development under the rent regime.

Central Govt cuts, Local Authorites redistribute resources to cover gaps in servcies................. the third sector suffers and so do the clients -------- central / local politices in a time of austerity - nothing chnages.
