SUSTAINABLE HOUSING AWARDS

Sustainability is one of the most pressing issues affecting the social housing sector. The government is introducing its green deal scheme and forcing new build homes to be ‘zero carbon’ in order to achieve an 80 per cent cut in carbon emissions by 2050. And social landlords are at the forefront of this effort.
These awards celebrate those projects and organisations that are at the vanguard of housing sustainability best practice. Involvement in these awards as a winner or a finalist brings widespread recognition, masses of media exposure and could lead to further work or commissions.
The 2011 awards were presented by the comedian, writer, actor and environmental campaigner Marcus Brigstocke and attracted over 550 people, with a cross section of senior industry figures including representatives of government departments, chief executives of leading social housing providers and representatives of the main trade and professional bodies.

Awards ceremony
The awards ceremony is a lunchtime event that takes place at London’s Hilton Hotel, Park Lane.
The price of tickets include pre-lunch drinks reception, a lunch menu and the awards ceremony. Drinks at the table are additional.
