Comment on: The future’s bright
The profession has consistently warned Shapps that his policies would lead to the poor being forced out of London and now he is surprised. Did it never once occur to him to that the profession may know what it was talking about? Did it never occur to him to listen? Don't thank me Mr Shapps. I do not wish to be associated with your reforms. The country will be paying for them for a very long time.

Two thirds of new build properties going to overseas buyers doesn't exactly help

Comment on: Incentive payments should help first-time buyers
It really is disingenuous to publish articles about the use of new homes bonus that do not make it clear, than other than for a small amount of funding to get it off the ground initially, the bonus is entirely funded through the redistribution of other council resources. It is top sliced from formula grant. I am all for councils supporting housing, but use of this money cannot do that without diverting resources from other areas of spend.

Comment on: Occupy protestors in bid to shape housing policy
A combination of CIH, Places for People and L&Q doesn't bode well for Occupy. I can see the influence already - not only in affordable rent, but in that awful term - a big ask.
Occupy - affordability is all about unequal income and wealth distribution not housing.
Stability and security is really important. You don't get it from the governments new fixed term tenancies. You do get it from regulation in the private sector.
