Comment on: Housing groups to tackle payday loans
Couple of things that worry me:
- Loan / betting advertising on football shirts e.g. Blackpool (Wonda.com)
- Off licences and betting shops on the corner of every social housing estate preying on hope.
- The lack of publicity for credit unions and CDFI's in the media as an alternative to pay day loans.
For me the problem is with the legal money lenders but the politicians keep barking on about loan sharks! They are a small proportion of the problem. Regulation must happen now - 4000% for a £500 loan is criminal. -
