H+H UK: Further recognition for green initiatives

The Award recognises the range of activity the company undertakes to continually monitor and improve its environmental performance.  In particular, during 2009 H+H UK was the first UK company to be awarded a ‘very good’ rating at all sites for all products, under the BES 6001:2008 Responsible Sourcing Initiative from the Building Research Establishment (BRE).

H+H also operates to ISO 14001 at all manufacturing sites, is certified with the Carbon Trust Standard and in 2010 achieved a top ten position in the Sunday Times Best Green Companies index.

Targets are set each year for reducing carbon emissions, water and power usage and waste production.  The company has a clear commitment to be an industry leader in environmental and sustainability issues and it is the all-round attention to this goal that impressed the Kent judges.

The panel’s verdict was clear: “Year after year, H+H UK Ltd continually improve their environment performance through their well-managed Environmental Management System…  H+H have shown continued dedication to operating sustainably and their certification to BES 6001 demonstrated their commitment to the environment and their willingness to deliver more than is expected.”
