A long time ago (1967 to be precise) in a galaxy far, far away - well, Lewisham - Hyde Group was born.
But, as Jedi master Yoda knew, ‘always in motion is the future’ and Hyde chief executive Steve White clearly went to the same finishing school - understood to be somewhere in the Dagobah System. Or perhaps he just loves Star Wars films.
Hyde next week launches the next phase of its One Hyde (Obi) One Vision restructuring project, which will see the group cut its subsidiaries to three. The new hope will be launched on 4 May and promoted with the slogan ‘may the fourth be with you’ - already a well-known phrase among lisping Jedis. The internal promotion will include drawings of characters to bring home the message.
Closed Circuit wishes Hyde’s Jedi masters all the best with the restructure and hopes they can avoid the temptations of the dark side - believed to include high rents, poor repair services and the desire to create a brutal galactic empire.
The fight to become the first directly elected mayor of Salford is hotting up with candidates ramping up their campaigns.
Among them is Liberal Democrat candidate Norman Owen, who has taken a novel approach to getting his message across.
When quizzed about his plans for housing in the city, he gave chapter and verse on what was right, wrong and what he would do better. But upon finishing he asked that none of this be written about in case any opponent should try to purloin his policies - although it may also make it more difficult for voters to work out his plans. Closed Circuit is sure all will become clear by 3 May.
Shadow communities minister Hilary Benn has been anonymous in his role to date - so much so that he is in danger of becoming known as the whispering man of the opposition.
But this week saw him leap into action on Twitter, attacking housing minister Grant Shapps over the coalition’s council tax plans.
Closed Circuit hopes Mr Benn isn’t disheartened by his Twitter foray, which ended with a pleading ‘any chance of answering my question, Grant?’. Even if it’s just on Twitter it was good to be reminded of his existence.
