SUSTAINABLE HOUSING AWARDS
22 OCTOBER 2010
Sustainability is one of the most pressing issues affecting the social housing sector. Britain’s homes are responsible for a huge proportion of the UK’s carbon dioxide emissions. This is why all new homes will have to meet tough new zero carbon standards by 2016.
The Sustainable Housing Awards celebrates the projects and organisations at the vanguard of housing sustainability best practice. Involvement in these awards as a winner or a finalist brings widespread recognition, masses of media exposure and could lead to further work or commissions.
This year’s awards will be presented by the comedian writer and environmental campaigner Mark Watson at a lunchtime ceremony in London’s Hilton Hotel on 22nd October 2010. Last year the event attracted almost 500 people, with a cross section of senior industry figures including representatives of government departments, chief executives of leading social housing providers and representatives of the main trade and professional bodies.
