Boris backs our empty homes campaign

Boris Johnson has thrown his weight behind Inside Housing’s campaign to tackle empty homes.
The London Mayor’s support brings the total number of backs of our Empty Promise campaign to 366.
Writing on our website, the Mayor’s director of housing, Richard Blakeway, called Mr Johnson an ‘enthusiastic backer’ of the campaign.
Last week City Hall pledged to spend £60 million tackling empty homes in the capital.
The campaign has already achieved its aim of securing more government advice for councils to use empty dwelling management orders.
A second demand – for grant for landlords to bring empty homes back into use – is to be trialled by the Homes and Communities Agency.
It is up to Chancellor Alistair Darling will reveal whether he has met the third demand of a 10 per cent VAT cut on repairs and renovations when he delivers his budget later this month.
Next week Inside Housing will visit Number 10 Downing Street to deliver its Empty Promise petition to the Prime Minister.

http://squat.net/We don't really want an internet magazine -- We want squatted houses and freespaces everywhere and all the time. The current situation in europe is getting worse and worse - Perhaps we are able to inform you, or to motivate some people to join the squatter scene or to help us with our work ... etc.
Additional the internet becomes more and more an stupid ad-banner-blinking bullshit - we need some "other" informations.
The people have to know what's going on at the moment with encryption and other computerstuff. All this is changing our lives day by day. We have to care NOW - in a few years all this stuff will reign over us - if we are not able to smash their system.
