Comment on: MP to continue fight against ‘legal loan sharks’
Once again, this government does not understand the desperation of some people. If MPs needed to use these thieving companies who have 100s or even 1000s percent interest rates they would soon bring in legislation to cap rates

Sick to death hearing about so called "affordable" rent

Comment on: Landlord and contractor scrap £45m repairs deal
This has also happened at Peabody. The contract with Osbornes has been scrapped by mutual consent. Perhaps Inside housing could find out why this has happened twice

Comment on: Duncan Smith opposes Osborne’s £10bn welfare cut
cuts to the most vulnerable, tax cuts to the wealthiest in the country. Same old tories! Yes Labour may have to look at cuts, but I am sure they would not be this savage, certainly would not have given tax cut to the wealthiest.

Comment on: Brit taxpayers should jump housing queue says MP
It is curious that EVERY new tenant that moves into the HA estate that I live in does not have English as their first language. Take from that what you will

Posted in: Can violence ever be a valid form of protest against the cuts?
I thought Saturday's march was great, and was getting full coverage on the news channels - until the violence started. After that, the violent protesters were all that was shown.
I undestand that virtually all the people arrested were the ones that quietly sat down in fortnum and Mason. Only 11 of the protesters making damage on the streets were actually arrested. Not sure what that says!
I objected to the violent protesters being described as "a breakaway group". They never were part of the main demonstration, which was a complete success, with half million on the streeets - although you would never have known that looking at the Sunday papers -

These new politicians have no clue as to what the real world is, they've never been in it!

I completely agree with you PSR. And it now appears that under the new rules even those on fixed term tenancies will have the right to buy, so that really will be the end of social housing. Maggie must be having a chuckle, Dave is finishing off what she started!

Well, I don't know what the answer is then, if everyone in politics has never had a proper job, and has come through the university, political researcher type job. I don't know where we go from here. Perhaps a condition that no one is considered for a candidacy unless they have worked outside of politics for at least 3 years or something along those lines. But you know and I know this will never happen

Fair enough I stand corrected. But do you agree that the age should be 35 or at least candidates should have had a 'proper job'
