Comment on: Council to expel homeless benefit claimants
How's about if the local councils were obliged to build a designated number of homes each year for the people they serve to live in. There is much on construction news about "suicide bids" from the developers so they could get them built at cost and have a tangible asset at the end of the process thereby boosting their balance sheets and providing accommodation for the most needy. Either that or they can sell the local sports hall and library to Tescos on the back of a promise to chuck some affordable homes on top of the car park which they then subcontract to a RSL and deny all involvment in thereby depleting the coffers, assets, facilites and community of all character so the people they serve don't want to live there anymore? This game has surely gone too far? Isn't it time for the people paid to organise and co-ordinate this "big society" to step up and take the responsibilty they are elected to?

Comment on: Mayor urged to ditch shared ownership
Surely the bulk of new homes in London are leasehold anyway or have I missed the point?
