    They will have looked at the %age of properties that have no repairs reported annually against those tha have more than (say) 5 repairs reported annually. This dat is very useful in making assumptions of what the mean cost per property will be.

    You can probably assume sonething like 20% of the stock will only require the gas safety inspection within a financial year. There average repair cost then gets shared amongst the properties that will require more care and attention.

    IT would be interesting to see a comparison between the RTB repossessions and the 'normal' repossessions. I would expect them to be at a higher level, but nonetheless a comparison would be fascinating.

    Fair point Chris, but we can't just sit back ignoring the fact that a lot of these people/families are being exploited.

    If it increases the waiting list, then so be it, but a lot of the so called landlords in these situations are getting away with tax free murder.

    I'm not that familiar with the area JB. Can you please give some idea of what cost of (say) a 3 bed semi or terraced house would be there?

    I suspect that even with a maiximum discount, it would still be considerable sum for your average Jo.
