The deal, announced today (Wednesday), means Wates has a 100 per cent stake in Linbrook, which is based in Enfield, north London.

A Wates spokesperson refused to reveal the value of the deal, because it is against the company’s policy and because Wates is a privately owned business.

Linbrook has a turnover of £50 million, employs around 400 people, and provides responsive repairs, maintenance and refurbishment under contracts covering more than 100,000 properties.

Paul Drechsler, chair and chief executive of Wates Group, said: ‘Wates is always looking at where we can add value for our customers, and joining with Linbrook offers us the opportunity to harness a new set of skills and expertise. This move puts Wates Living Space on track towards achieving significant growth in an important market.’
