Free booklet makes the case for housing

The housing industry is set to fight its corner in the post-election battle for resources with the publication of a new booklet from Inside Housing and the Chartered Institute of Housing.

Free with today’s magazine, the House Proud booklet aims to take the campaign - which aimed to push housing up the political agenda in the run-up to next week’s general election - beyond the ballot box.

The booklet, sponsored by Drivers Jonas Deloitte and Wates Living Space, is packed with evidence of the positive contribution good housing makes to all the nation’s public services, including health, education and employment.

It has been mailed to 2,000 key opinion formers who will shape housing’s role in the coming months, including senior members of all the main political parties.

Sarah Webb, chief executive of the CIH, said it was ‘vital to act on House Proud’s momentum’ as a new UK government was elected in.
