Tower Hamlets Homes has been named the top housing sector organisation by Stonewall, the lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans equality charity, in its Top 100 Employers list.
The organisation came in at number 12, followed by Your Homes Newcastle, which is the second-highest performing housing organisation in the list – at number 28.
The Top 100 Employers list, created by Stonewall, is compiled from submissions to the Workplace Equality Index, a benchmarking tool used by employers to assess their achievements and progress on LGBT equality in the workplace.
The highest new entry in the sector was Wolverhampton Homes, which came in at number 63, followed by Nottingham City Homes at number 89.
Gentoo remains a ‘star performer’ in the housing sector this year, following their consistent exemplary performance in the index. Star performers are not ranked and instead work with Stonewall on “pioneering initiatives that will define future best practice”.
Rounding up the list from the housing sector is The Riverside Group (60), L&Q (80), Metropolitan (80) and Circle Housing Group (93).
