From a non-housing prospect I would keep at it, there is more chance of your current position improving over the coming years than jacking it in.

Imagine your next interview "So why did you leave your last job?" You "I was better off on the dole".....doesn't look good does it? And that's assuming you can find a job to get interviewd for.

No one ever improved their life chances by opting not to work.

I have to agree with some of the previous comments with regards the role of the housing provider and it's staff - where does the role end?  Are staff suitably trained to deal with such instances, and are they resonsible for 'community cohesion' and all that it entails?  There can be a perception that existing housing providers are too hands on, therefore sigmatising those in 'social housing' and deeming them uncapable of looking after themselves, or the houses they live in.  Compare that to the other 70% who own their homes and have no input from the mortgage companies who usually fund them.  If I decide to go on a rampage and lob a brick through some innocent shop-keepers window will I get my mortgage cancelled?  Will my house be repossessed?  What is the connection between an unlawful event and having your home taken off you?

This is a very amusing thread for such an issue, so using my expert housing management background I would advise:

     - remove branches, and throw back-over wall/fence of neighbour. You will not get done for theft, however you may be liable for criminal damage.

     - find out who the reginal/area manager is and write to them outlining you concerns OR get a copy of the complaints procedure and follow asadvised.

You always get the 'go straight to the top' advocat, but in effect the CE/CEO's PA will open it and sent it straight to the local office, therefore wasting time, or respond back saying they can't get involved unless the procedure is followed.  Common sense really, and more efective than assuming going to the top will fast-track a response.

Pele Pele - it's good to see you class social tenants as "poor people".  By the sounds of it are you sure you don't subscribe to the rantings of the DM?

Now if you'll excuse me the filtration system needs turning on........

Kass - as ever you contradict stating landlords having too many void properties whilst expecting tenants to have extra time to decide on empty properties.  Bemoaning the fact tenants are shunted around to suit landlords, then saying CBL doesn't allow choice (the clue is in the 'C' of CBL). Sasying that RSLs waste money, then expecting landlords to carry void losses including rent.

The fact of the matter is (as the saying goes) you have to help yourself before you can expect others to help you e.g. when you bid for something make sure you know what your bidding for.  So as has been quoted several time on this forum, and handily avoided/ignored by you how much time would you give?  I bet that still gets no response from you, but no doubt a slagging off of all housing staff, landlords et al.

And I think this thread has fully shown your complete lack of knowledge of the sector (yes I know you are a tenant, but driving a car doesn't mean you can make on!).
