How sad the people responsible for governing and the authorities responsible for enforcing law and order have spectacularly failed in their jobs, yet the best they come up with for the problems; gangs, single-parents, absent fathers, broken society, ghettos, blah, blah, .....
Now they want to go on a rampage (war) using Tony Blair's WMD style of information to eliminate these ills!!!

This is a rather bizarre case despite the fact the Court of Appeal's ruling that the Council had to defend racial discrimination allegations. Has Leeds council concluded their findings on the allegations?

Leeds Council cannot 'comment because for legal reasons' and yet Mr Sorenson can comment without any legal concerns.

What is disastrous is the lack of expertise and common sense about business growth and investments. There still too many cowboys in charge of the construction industry. They want to run before they can walk!

This is rather strange that a CEO of an organisation is conducting business in this fashion as you have described. This person must have been in a coma for the last twenty years if s/he in operating in this fashion.

Nevertheless, If you have already lodged a complaint with the TSA than you must allow it to run its natural cause. Though, I am somewhat surprised the TSA's 'complaint's section' has not acknowledged your complaint or advised you of their complaint's procedure.

I do not agree that you should consider 'naming and shaming the organisation and its Chief Executive' unless you have facts or evidence that can be corroborated and be used it a court of law! Or you could face a libellous, vexatious or slander charge/s with serious financial consequences.

Having read several of your questions and threads over a period of time, I sense that there are some real issues surrounding yourself, the TA and HA. This needs to be resolved and I think through mediation.

Bad practises in management must not be tolerated. You must highlight them by using the correct processes that are already in place to deal with such matters. This process itself will start to expose an individual\s or the organisation if they are not playing by the rules.

    Eva

There are many procedures already in place when dealing with all matters that are reported to most HAs. Your statement does not clarify what the issues are nor does stated why the HAs are ignoring what's being reported to them?

I sense that there is an underlining problem with what is going on your TA, the Board members, the residents and the HA. Perhaps you should invite someone from the TA and the HA to contribute to this thread.

    Hi Eva,

I sense that there seems to be a problem with the members of the TA's Board and with yourself. This clearly is a blockage that need to be resolved in the first instance. I am not suggesting that there is any fault attributed to anyone either as I do not have all the information, but there is a misunderstanding that is clearly hindering in how the TA could move forward positively with you playing an important part with TA's Board.

My suggestion at this stage would be to contact your HA's Tenant Representative Officer or the officer who has direct responsibility for TAs. Raise your concerns with the officer and ask the officer to help mediate a suitable solution with the Board.

Many TAs failed because members start creating their own agendas and loose focus of what they were elected to do. In-fighting is very damaging and does not resolve anything. They only create a fractious a TA which is going nowhere.

You need to persevere and get to root of the current problem. Some of the truths exposed may not very pleasant but be proactive and use it as a learning curve . Your main aim must be about getting the TA running the way it should.

    I hope this helps.

When you set up the TA, I presume you also had a constitution how the organisation will operate? You should have a set a rules on what each elected officer's role is and what would be expected of them. In those rules you will a section that will deal with breaches of the TA's rules and it will also outline a clear disciplinary policy. If you don't have these, I suggest you get asap. If you, do than identify the clauses if believe that have been breached and pursue it according then rules. It is very important to comply with the rules.

A TA is a democratic organisation and its main purpose is to behave in a constitutional and accountable way to their residents. Issues raised in meetings must be discussed, debated and minuted, which must be available to all residents for transparency and scrutiny.

It is not appropriate for you to set up another organisation as there is already a TA. This TA must work on all matters that affect the residents.

But, there is nothing stopping the TA in setting up a Repairs and Major Works sub-committee who will specifically focus on those issues. The sub-committee will then report back to the TA's Board on any matters of concerns and with recommendations. The Board will then decide on how to proceed with the sub committee's concerns and proposals.

    Good luck.
