Landlords merge to save thousands of pounds
More than half a million pounds worth of efficiency savings will be made as a result of two Birmingham housing associations joining forces to become one organisation.
Harden housing and Optima Community Association (OCA) have merged to become Optima, under the umbrella management of WM housing group.
Pat Brandum, chief executive of WM Housing Group, said the partnership would benefit both organisations. ‘As with all partnerships, skills will be share,’ he said. ‘We recognise that Optima has significant housing management and regeneration success in a community-based setting, which WM Housing Group will benefit from.’
OCA previously managed around 2,000 homes across five estates in Birmingham, while Harden, already a member of WM Housing group, was responsible for around 2,700 across Birmingham and the west midlands. The merger brings WM Housing’s total properties to 26,000.
