Bravo, too, to Warren’s bosses and colleagues at Gentoo. Their flexibility and sacrifices have enabled the housing association joiner to keep his job and his London 2012 dreams alive.
It’s fantastic to learn the lengths landlords are going to for a piece of Olympic action. Thanks to the likes of Gentoo, Places for People and Yorkshire Housing pledging to support budding Olympians, the sector will have multiple housing athletes to cheer for when the Games open in a year’s time.
Others, such as Peabody, have harnessed Olympic fever to boost residents’ skills and employment prospects.
The Olympics celebrate everything that is great about human endeavour - it is hardly a surprise that the housing sector has already joined the party. Let the Games begin.
