I'm after some much needed advice.
I am currently housed by PCHA who have recently changed to Genesis HA.
I am living in a very small bedsit flat with my baby who is now 5 months old. I believe my flat is now very unsuitable following the birth of my child for various reasons. Firstly I suffer from chronic back pain and I live on the fifth floor in a unlifted building. I have to climb 11 flights of stairs plus steps to access the main building door on a daily basis with the addition of carrying a growing baby, push chair and bags. This is now playing serious havoc on my back and I am constantly in pain.
My flat is very small and there is virtually no room to walk as I have no room for the babys things he now needs a cot but I don't see how it will fit I am even unsure when he starts crawling where this will take place as there is no space.
The flat only has two windows and is ridiculously hot my baby is constantly overheating as the flat has poor ventilation I can not use sprays in my home as a result of this.
I am currently registered to bid for a new suitable home but there is no clue as to how long it will take to move into a larger more suitable accommodation.
My HA say they just do it by priority date and do not consider other factors when doing there short list for prioritising tenants for viewings. Can this be true? I mean my situation is very distressing as it is affecting my health and in turn my babies as I have now developed depression as a result.
My doctor has provided a few rubbish medical letters but is now reluctant to do a decent one as lots of people suffer from back pain.
Please help any advice will be very helpful
