Our MP Tim Loughton came to the conclusion that Sanctuary Housing were "useless" and "one of the worst housing associations I have had to deal with", following his dealings with them on our behalf last year.
Sanctuary Housing's behaviour when dealing with our complaints about their anti-social nightmare tenant neighbour was astonishing:- blatant bullying tactics and lies by their managers (fortunately we had evidence of this), local and national offices not answering many of our eighteen (18!) letters, twisting the meaning of our letters to make it mean the opposite, and so on and so forth.
Following a cat-kicking incident, their tenant was finally evicted from the flat below us and Sanctuary eventually had their flat sound-proofed.
In the meantime my partner had had serious depression, migraine headaches and I virtually had a nervous breakdown both before and after moving out. Our relationship did not survive the nightmare. The neighbours across the road, a lovely and friendly retired elderly couple, were particularly upset by having had their complaints ignored.
Has Sanctuary Housing been seriously reprimanded by the Housing Corporation (as it was then) or anyone else in any way? Somehow, I doubt it. We certainly had no energy left to take them to court, we just wanted to get on with the rest of our lives. A full apology and explanation would have been nice.
What is wrong with these people, where is their conscience?
