I disagree that 2000 new houses is good news. It may be compartively good news compared to the dearth of new homes in last few years, but its not good news in the context of needing 200,000 new homes or more. Its not even a drop in the ocean.
As for strategic housing role - who pays and what pays for the residual tiny housing 'departments' post stock transfer? Where have the experienced housing staff gone - to the transfer organisation! So without any income to pay and without (largely) any experienced housing staff remaining...... - some critical and bloody obvious points the AC didnt appear to consider. Rather than members getting involved they should be asking central govt just how on earth do you expect us to fulifil a strategic role?
