There will remain a difficulty to restrict pay whilst there are the likes of hedgefund owners earning £2.5M per week. Talking of non-jobs, these people make such huge sums through gambling on the values of the outcomes of other peoples gambling on the value of companies within which real people work. Good luck to them, except that their activities alter the cost of the products we buy, the values of the pensions that we depend upon, and the value of the currency in our pocket.
Why then are public sector workers labled virtual criminals for providing a service and wanting a standard of living when the real non-jobbers and economic wreckers are scooting off with the proceeds of their activity?
It seems ironic to hear all of these capitalists, like Shapps, arguing against the free market in terms of wages, and arguing greed within the public sector pay when the same is to be encouraged as just reward for his own clique of friends. It must be wonderful to have so many standards to call one's own.
