Hopefully this isn't another Connaught. And I also hope that the reporting of the problems at Rok will be a little more balanced than that of Connaught where many jumped to all sorts of wild conclusions, whipping up a storm of anger.
Jon Cruddas: "So it starts. Connaught..becomes..the first victim of collateral damage in the cuts onslaught."
Chris Blackhurst: "A profit warning saw Connaught lower its estimates for this year and next - and all because of cuts unveiled by the chancellor."
The 'cuts' are as a result of financial mis-management, poor budgetary control, and excessive debt by the Labour Government (the same things that brought down Connaught).
Blaming the current Government for every problem in the UK, and whipping up anger at the policies aimed at dealing with Labour's awful legacy is (at the very least) irresponsible.
The disgraceful scenes yesterday are as a direct result of the inflammatory language used by union leaders, the Socialist Worker, and are fuelled by Labour and the likes of Chris and Jon whose unfounded claims/predictions of impending doom do nothing to build confidence in our economy.
Talking down our economy and our country will, I fear, be a self-fulfilling prophesy and we'll all suffer for it.
Please be responsible in your reporting/commentary and moderate your language when talking about the slowing of growth in public spending.
