"SENSE" + "POLITICANS" = OXYMORON
Narra ... George "No Tax" Osborne is getting £millions tax savings because of "Trust" benefits AND MP's are getting £millions between them in benefits via expenses --- all this puts the "£140" in a bit more perspective in some peoples' minds.
I know there'll be tut-tutting at the "£140" and it being "free money" for a number of people but as NOT ALL POLITICANS are like George "No Tax" Osborne, all MPs or even those ex MPs in the Courts equally NOT ALL CLAIMANTS are like "£140".
As an aside, the biggest drain on the Welfare Payments bill is Working Tax Credits according to BBC figures during the Comprehensive Spending Review and I gather "£140" doesn't receive WTC?
I imagine that some people will view WTC as a means to keep people in work but on low wages to keep the PM's mates in dosh AND Housing Benefit as a means to keep tenants faced with rents they can't afford and home owners who rent prerties in dosh.
