Hi Paul jones,
what scare mongering rubbish. The cap at £26k is a gross income of about £30k how many benefit claiments could get a job paying this much? If they could, would they hurry up and get one.
The cap is one hopes a start, from where it MUST go down to a realistic level. Benefits should always be 20% less than the family could earn if they went out to work.
In the USA some states pay unemployment pay for up to 90 weeks, most less. Others have a life time entitlement, ie you can only receive 5 years maximum, state benefits in your life. After that your on your own.
