On a practical note this is just complete nonsense. Has anyone ever taken a look at how a number of LAs publish the details of over £500 expenditure? It's just a complete jumble of meaningless data dumped onto the website. In order to do otherwise it would take the creation of a few extra posts just to get it presented in a meaningful way.
the data is sufficient for internal processes but means less than nothing to a wider audience in its current format. RPs will just do the same.
On Michels point 'completely funded by the taxpayer'. How? I thought they charge rents to people living in their houses/flats? Those who access funds for development surely have to satisfy the lenders?
Alternatively, can we have a law requiring the banks to publish their expenditure in the same way please?
